PALESTINIAN VISITORS TO CHRISTCHURCH
THREE MONTHS’ STAY PLANNED •‘The Press' Special Service AUCKLAND, January 16. On a three months’ visit to Christchurch two smartly dressed Palestinian women arrived from Sydney by flyingboat. They are Mrs M. Boutagy. of Haifa, and her oaughtei. Miss Nadia Boutagy, a student aged 20. Miss Boutagy. who has a fairly good command of English, said they intended visiting her sister, who married Dr. David Cropp, of Christchurch, while he was serving with the Australian Army Medical Corps in Palestine. She had not seen her sister for more than five years. Her father. Mr Charles Boutagy. who runs hotels in Haifa, would be leaving Cairo on February 10 by air to join them in New Zealand. Miss Boutagy explained that she and her family were Christians Her only comment on the strife in her country was that everybody seemed to think it would get very much worse. Mrs Boutagy and Miss Boutagy travelled to Australia from Haifa in the Jugoslav ship Partizanka. They will leave for Christchurch to-morrow.
