SOUTH ISLAND TOURNEY Results of play in the South Island croquet tournament yesterday were:— Open championship.—W. H. Kirk beat Mrs Henry, 26-2, 26-0; Mrs Dick beat Mrs Kirk, 26-6, 26-16; Colonel Beamish beat Mrs McCracken 22-26, 26-24, 26-14. Men’s championship.—Semi-final: W. H. Kirk beat A. Nettleton, 26-9. Women’s championship.—Mrs Challen beat Mrs Maddren, 26-19; Mrs Crawford beat Mr J. McNish, 26-21. Semi-final: Mrs Challen beat Mrs Crawford, 26-19, Handicap doubles.—Mrs Penn and Miss Dunn beat Mrs Bonar and Miss McDowell. 26-23. Handicap singles.—Mrs Stockdale beat Mrs Travis, 26-24; Mrs Martin beat. H. Smith, 26-22; Mrs Logan beat Mrs Draper, 26-18; Miss Grey beat Mrs Burgess, 26-14; Mrs Martin beat Mrs Palmer. 26-18; Mrs Crawford beat Mrs Strang, 26-10; Mrs Wearing beat Mrs McClelland, 26-24.
