PIGS EAT CREAM

Sir,—It may interest the cream Gestapo, “Whim Wham,” and the general public to know that in North Canterbury during the Christmas vacation, cream was being fed to pigs. The farmer is not to blame in the matter as he has transportation difficulties; he is not allowed to sell cream at the door and cannot afford expensive labour to make more butter than he needs. I had always been led to believe that the present Government was the workers’ friend, but when pigs get preference over human beings, it is time to anticipate the next General Election. —Yours, etc., DINNA FORGET. January 13, 1948.
