CREAM SPONGE
Sir,—-Last week I walked into a shop and asked for a “cream-filled sponge cake.’ Imagine my disgust when the sake was eut to find that the cream existed for about half an inch all round the cake, and the rest was just plain sponge. Has anyone else, I wonder, had a similar experience? And I would like to inquire if such a thing is allowable. I like to pay for what I get, but I also desire to get what I pay for.—Yours, etc., T CREAM SPONGE. January 14, 1948.
