RAILWAY WORKER KILLED RUN OVER BY RAKE OF TRUCKS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, January 13. Norman Rogers, aged about 60. a railway employee, was killed instantly when he was run over in the railway goods yards just after 1 p.m. this afternoon. He was crossing a line to the Aotea Quay, goods shed when he was pun over by a rake of five waggons. He was employed in the goods shed office, but was not a permanent employee. MAN’S LONG JOURNEY TO HOSPITAL INJURED BY FALLING TREE (P.A.) NAPIER, January 13. Crushed when caught by a falling tree at 9 a.m. to-day at Pohukura, about 60 miles north of Napier on the Taupo road, John Clapperton, a mill employee, did not reach the Napier Hospital until 4.30 p.m. He was felling a big matai tree which swung aside after striking another tree and pinned him to the ground. Mr Clapi>erton was taken to the main road in a truck. From there an attempt was made to take him to Napier by private car, but it broke down on a high hill climb. There was a long wait for a service car. The final stage of the journey was made by a St. John Ambulance, which met the service car. Mr Clapperton is suffering from a broken left leg and possibly three bones broken in the right foot and a fractured shoulder. DEATH AFTER ACCIDENT After a fall at her home, Margaret Ellen Doyle, of 7 Melrose street, was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital last Thursday. She died at the hospital yesterday. An inquest was opened before the Coroner (Mr H. P. La wry) and adjourned sine die. WOMAN INJURED Mrs Kathleen Edna Willoughby, of 296 Lyttelton street, Spreydon, was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital yesterday after she received Jeg injuries when she was thrown

from her bicycle ip a collision with a car at the corner of Lincoln road [and Station street, Addington, at 6.45 i p.m.. Her condition this morning was .reported to be satisfactory.
