SOVIET BLOC BOYCOTTS UNITED NATIONS LITTLE ASSEMBLY .—The United Nations Interim Committee or Little Assembly, held its first meeting at Lake Success, New York, on January 5 with the Soviet bloc of six nations carrying out its threat to boycott all proceedings. This photograph shows some of the delegates and officials, and the vacant seats of two members of the Soviet bloc, Russia and the Ukraine. On the extreme left is Mr Trygve Lie, Secretary-General of the United Nations, who convened the Little Assembly.
