NORTH BEACH GUTTERS
Sir, —North Beach gutters are still a smelly malice to the community. My letter of some weeks ago seems to have been forgotten. The gutters are swept, but right behind the cleaner, slime and filth follow. His is an unthankful task, a danger to him and his family. With three cases of infantile paralysis reported this morning, cannot something be done at once; or does it need a petition, which should not be necessary? I am only asking for prevention, which is far better than cure; or where do I go next to be heard on this vital subject?—Yours, etc., (Mrs) I. MORAZ. January 8, 1948. [An official of the City Engineer’s office said when this letter was re- I ferred to him yesterday: “Until sewers are available in Brighton, all that can be done is sweeping and flushing.”]
