TWO AUSTRALIAN RIDERS SHOW GOOD FORM J. COOPER SLIGHTLY INJURED Two Australian cyclists, J. Cooper and R. Stout, attracted a large attendance at the Christchurch Cycling Club’s meeting at English Park on Saturday, when lap records that had stood for more than 20 years broken by Cooper. ' Although Canterbury was represented by its best cash' riders, including H. J. Smither and A. J. Tomson, the Australians were more than a match for them. Cooper, who holds 35 Australian track cycling titles, fell and badly grazed his arms. He was treated as an outpatient at the Christchurch Public Hospital, and although he returned to the meeting later, he was unable to finish his programme. The other Australian, Ron Stout, showed speed in all the events in which he took part, and came out with four firsts and a second in the day’s finals.
