OUTBREAK OF PARALYSIS
THIRD DEATH IN AUCKLAND RESPIRATORY MUSCLES AFFECTED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 11. The third death from infantile paralysis since the outbreak jegan on November 15 occurred st the Auckland Hospital to-day. The patient was an eight-year-old boy. who was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night suffering from paralysis of the respiratory muscles. The two other fatal cases, a women who died last Sunday and a man who died two weeks ago were also suffering from the same form of poliomyelitis. Two further suspects, both children were diagnosed to-day as positive cases, and the total number of positive cases in the hospital is 38. In addition. there are three suspected cases in hospital. No cases were admitted to-day.
