ELEVEN CADETS PASS MEDICAL TEST SIX CHRISTCHURCH PASSES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, December 11. The first 11 of 180 Air Tieininu Corp* cadets who are awaiting medical examination, or the results of the examination, so that they can get on with flying hours for the present year, have now received notice of their success. Others should be advised shortly. In passing this test, the cadets are proved fit for all aircrew duties m military aviation. Of the cadets who have recefrtq notice, four are from Wellington, aw these have already reported to the Wellington Aero Club for flyinf to’ atruction, which will start during the week-end. Six belong to Christchurch, and one to the Timaru Squadron, The South Island cadets will report to tne Canterbury and South Canterbury Aero Clubs respectively, and will start flying almost immediately. To able cadets to compete the hours of flying required, the delay in starting has been reduced wherever possible. An issue of flying clothing will be made through aero clubs instead of being sent to cadets in the normal way. CADETS FROM CITY AREA TRAINING TO BEGIN TO-MORROW Cadets who have been chosen for flying instruction with the Canterbury Aero Club, under the Governments scheme for the Air Training Corps, will begin their training at liarewood to-morrow morning. As the results or some medical examinations are not yet known, it has not been announced how many youths will be in the first draft. On the first day, instruction will begin at 8 o’clock, and continue throughout the day, the instructors working in shifts. The club will probably employ an additional assistant instructor.
