REPORT TO WOMEN’S DIVISION A report on the recently-acquired rest home in Onehunga of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was given by Mrs L L M. Coop at yesterday’s meeting of the North Canterbury provincial executive of the division. _ . ’ . • The home, which was called “Scotlands,” had cost £5400, but about £7OOO would be needed before the home could be established, Mrs Coop said. She suggested that donations towards the cost of the hdme should average about £lO for each branch. This did -not mean that each branch should give this amount, she added. Some branches would find it difficult to give more than a few pounds. Other larger branches would be able to give much more than £lO. Mrs Coop also spoke of the holiday residence, “Honda,” at Lowry Bay, which had recently been presented as a gift by an anonymous donor so that members of the Women’s Division might go there with their families for short holidays. It was emphasised that this was not a rest home. Persons spending their holidays there would be expected to prepare their own meals and keep the rooms tidy. A custodian would be in charge of the home and would do some outside work. A, rental fee would be charged to defray expenses of the custodian and the upkeep of the property. The home could accommodate six persons, and only one family at a time was to be in residence.
