MR CHIFLEY’S FLIGHT TO N.Z.
direct crossing IN TWIN-ENGINE PLANE (Rec. 12.45 a m.) CANBERRA, Dec. 8. The Prime Minister of Australia (Mr Chifley) will fly direct te New Zealand from Sydney next Monday, instead of by way of Norfolk Island. Mr Chifley will make the journey in a twin-engined Douglas aircraft, which he has used for Hights within Australia, These tentative plans may be changed before Monday. Efforts are being made by his associates to persuade Mr Chifley to use a four-engin-ed aircraft.
