TIMBER ON FIRE AT FURNITURE FACTORY.—A photograph taken last night, when racks of timber caught fire at the furniture factory of J. M. Mitehell, Ltd., at the corner of Colombo street and Bath street.

GIFT MODEL SHIPS FROM WALES.—These models of the brig Honderklip and the barque Standard Bearer, ships which were well known in Britain in the latter part of last century, were recently sent to Mr and Mrs P. G. Clements, of Riccarton, by a resident of Swansea, Wales, in appreciation of food parcels received. The models were made by Captain J. E. Owen, a member of the Swansea Shiplovers’ Society, to whom Mr and Mrs Clements have sent parcels regularly.
