OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, Nov. 19. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: an anti-cyclone covers the Tasman Sea. Pressure is low and falling east and south of New Zealand. Forecast: fresh to strong south-west winds, weather cool and unsettled with occasional showery periods. Further outlook: unsettled southerly weather. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate to strong south-west winds. Weather mainly fair. Temperatures moderate to mild. Further outlook: fair. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch was fine and sunny yesterday with a strong southwest wind. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was overcast and there was a light westerly wind.
