“The Press” Special Service DUNEDIN, November 18. At the rabbitskin sale held to-day approximately 45 tons were offered. Naturally at this time of the year the bulk of skins comprised hatters’ grades. There did not appear to be a keen demand, with the result that prices all-over showed a reduction when compared with those ruling at the last sale. On an average, values were down from 2d to 15d per lb. Following is the range of prices:—summers, 32d to 36d per lb: second milky, 30d to 34d; first milky, 67d to 80d; second spring bucks, to 80d; second spring does, to 108 d; first spring bucks, 86%d to 95d; first spring does, 107 d to 108 d; late bucks, to lOOd; late does, to 113 d; third broken, to 33d; second broken, 77 , ,2d to 84d; black, to 20d: fawn, to 20d. Hareskins, to 20d. Horsehair, 48d per lb. First large ferrets, 6d to 2s each: second ferrets, Id to 3d each: first white ferrets, 6d each. First stoat skins, 7s 5d to 7s 7d each. Goat skins, Is 6d to 2s per lb. First red deer, to 4s 8d per lb. The next sale is listed to take place on December 9. MINING Arahura.—The return for the first half of November was 6570 z from 110,000 yards in 246 hours.—(P.A.) Kanieri.—The return for the first half of November was 4040 z from 124,000 yards in 255 hours.—(P.A.) Slab Hut.—The return for the week ended November 15 was 22 ounces of gold from 10,000 yards in 64 hours. Waihi Investments.—The net profit of Waihi Investments and Exploration, Ltd., was £2637 for the year ended September 30—an increase of £213. Earnings failed by £9O to cover requirements for the proposed dividend of 2 per cent, sterling (less. 9s in the £ United Kingdom tax).— (P.S$.) Blackwater Mines (Reefton).—Four weeks to October 31: crushed, 2157 tons, for 993 ounces fine gold, all sources.
