CLIVE DRUMMOND’S PETITION
COMMITTEE MAKES NO RECOMMENDATION WELLINGTON, November 19. “S? rting to l he Representatives j on the petition of Clive Drummond, radio announcer who sougnt reinstatement as a permanent civil servant and other redress Mr
M. Moohan (Government, Petone) said the Public Petitions A to L Committee had no recommendation to make. Great consideration and time had been given to the petition and the committee’s decision was unanimous, said Mr Moohan. All the evidence went to show that petitioner intended to resign from service and did so before joining the Air Force. Had he applied for leave while he was in the Air Force the Government would have paid his superannuation contributions and his promotion rights would have been safeguarded. There appeared to be some feeling as Mr Drummond thought he should have received a better job.
