CHILDREN’S FAILURE TO ATTEND SCHOOL
PROCEEDINGS AGAINST FATHER
The father ot three children of school age was proceeded against by the Canterbury Education Board in the Magistrate’s Court, before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M., on Wednesday, for failing to send his children to school regularly. Fines amounting to £3 19s were imposed. During the time that one child, aged nine, had been at school his attendances had averaged'only 42.1 per cent., it was stated. The defendant had been convicted for a similar offence in July, and the Court Informed him that in future his children must attend school. Mr J. G. Brown represented the EducaDon Board.
