FARM WORKERS' WAGES
DISCUSSIONS ON INCREASE Agricultural farm workers had not been forgotten when increased wage rates for other sections of the community had been granted at the beginning of the month, said the secretary of North Canterbury Federated Farmers (Mr A. E. G. Lyttle) yesterday, when announcing that discussions on farm workers’ wages between a com’ mittee of the Dominion Council of Federated Farmers, the Meat and wool Section, and the New Zealand Workers’ Union would take place at Wellington to-morrow. The discussions w-ould not apply, to dairy farm workers, whose wage increases were governed by the guaranteed price announced by the Dairy Commission, said Mr Lyttle. It was probable, however, that any increase granted to agricultural farm workers wluld be in line with increasef granted to dairy farm workers.
