(Before Mr F. F. Reid, S.M.) REMANDED Desmond Patrick Egan was remanded until November 3 on a charge of stealing a purse and £8 7s in money, the property of Dorothy Cecilia Penhalluriack on October 20. No licence sticker attached to vehicle: Charles Leary Pope, 20s. CIVIL CASES CLAIM FOR DAMAGES (Before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M.) Selena Truscott (Mr J. D. Hutchison) claimed £36 14s 3d from the Christchurch City Council (Mr W. R. Lascelles). The claim arose through an accident on April 11, 1947, between the plaintiff's car and a vehicle driven by an employee of the defendant corporation. The statement of claim alleged that an employee of the defendant corporation had negligently driven a vehicle, the property of the Municipal Electricity Department, on the Stimner road and .had collided with the plaintiff’s car. Defendant had failed to keep a proper look-out and failed to give warning of his intention to turn. ORDERS FOR POSSESSION Walter Charles Colenso was ordered to give possession of a five-acre property at Halswell to E. F._Bearman and V. M. Bearman (Mr E. a. Lee) before November 11. Judgment was given the plaintiffs for £l2 mesne profits. T. M. Smith (Mr J. K. Moloney) sought an order for possession of premises at 170 Montreal street, from Thomas Pascoe (Mr H. Armstrong) and claimed £2B 17s 6d owing by defendant. The claim was made on the grounds of hardship. An order for the possession of the Ipremises before November 28 was made. Judgment was given the plaintiff for the amount owing by defendant. (Before Mr Raymond Ferner, p.M.) Hugh Patterson Armour, a dental surgeon (Mr J. D. Hutchison) claimed possession of a room in the Dominion Buildings, Cathedral square, from Eileen Nelson, a chiropodist (Mr W- R. Lascelles). Judgment was given for defendant. The warrant is to lie in the Court until January 17, 1948.
