WORLD FLYWEIGHT BOUT
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, October 20. Rinty Monaghan beat the Hawaiian, Dado Marino, in a fly-weight ' boxing match at Harringay arena, on points over 15 rounds. The promotors, who had taken legal advice after the British boxer. Jackie Paterson, had secured a court decision sustaining his title, announced that the United States .and Eire boards of control recognised that the fight was for the world’s fly-weight championship The fight was expected to be exciting, but the spectators frequently booed Marino and Monaghan for failing to make the pace. The referee warned both. Jackie Paterson defended his British bantam-weight title, knocking out Norman Lewis in the fifth round.
