ALLEGIANCE WITHDRAWN FROM MAHARAJA

(Rec. 8 p.m.) NEW DELHI, October 6. The mountain State of Chitral, in the Hindu Kush range where India borders on Russia and Afghanistan, has withdrawn its allegiance from the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir in whose territory an interim Moslem Government has been set up. Chitral, which has a population or 80,000, has declared for Pakistan without consulting the Maharaja’s Government, which is expected to join the Dominion of India. CHINESE EXCHANGE DEALINGS

NANKING, October 6. In a 15,000-word report, the Chinese Control Yuan alleged that "privileged corporations,” headed by relatives of Marshal Chiang Kai-shek and the former Prime Minister, Mr T. V. Soong, had obtained more than their allowable quotas of foreign exchange.
