OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. October*?. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: a complex depression is moving south-eastwards across the South Island. Forecast: southerly winds predominating, moderate inland, but strong at times on the coast. Weather dull, with widespread rain, easing gradually. Temperatures cool. The forecast V^ T the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the north and occasional showers, becoming less frequent.
