The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: a complex depression is moving south-eastwards across the South Island. Forecast: southerly winds predominating, moderate inland, but strong at times on the coast. Weather dull, with widespread rain, easing gradually. Temperatures cool. The forecast V^ T the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the north and occasional showers, becoming less frequent. Moderate southerlies in the south and weather becoming fair. Temperatures cooL CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was overcast and mild, with a moderate easterly wind.
