The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at & p.m. by the Meteorological Cffice, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: a depression is apNew Zealand from the E rth-west. Pressures are low south of New Zealand. Forecast: moderate wines from a northerly quarter. Weather cloudy to overcast, with rain in the alps and some scattered rain elsewhere. Temperatures mild. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate to fresh northerly winds. Weather dull, with occasional drizzle or rain and patches of fog. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine and warm, with a moderate north-west wind. At 1 o’clock this morning there were some clouds in the sky and there was a light, variable wind. The barometer at 23.75 m (1007.5 millibars) was steady.
