Union for World Government—Reports from delegates to the first congress 6f the Movement for World Government, held at Montreux. Switzerland, in August, were received at a meeting of the Wellington branch of the Federal Union for World Government. The branch’s delegates were Miss E. M., Maclennan and Mr J. Russell Hancock, who said that in their opinion the conference had been an outstanding success. At future conferences the aim of establishing a world constituent assembly in 1950 would be furthered. The congress concluded its deliberations by issuing a “Declaratior of Montreux,” affirming that mankind could free itself forever from war only by establishing a world federal government.
