The weather foreeast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Oifice, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Situation: a deep depression is over the south Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m.: moderate to fresh north-westerlies inland, moderate north-easterlies on the coast. Occasional rain in the western ranges, elsewhere fair. Temperatures moderate or mild. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of ffhe South Island is: Moderate to fresh north-east winds predominating. Weather cloudy to overcast, with occasional showers. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather yesterday was cold, with • strong easterly wind. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was clear and there was a very light breeze from the north-east.
