ST. BEDE’S COLLEGE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Cummings, boxing in the under eight stone division, won the Egden Cup and Mr C. Rundle’s prize for the most scientific boxer. Judged the most promising boxer under Bst 71b, B. O’Dea was awarded the special prize presented by Mr A. Dey. R. Riardon won Mr J. Heslop’s trophy wljen he showed himself the gamest loser in his bout with L. Hanley. Both A. Archer and D. Kane, who met in the under nine stone division, gave splendid exhibitions of fast, well-timed punching, footwork, and defence, and R. Neilsen, 9st 121 b, displayed a knowledge of ringcraft and clever boxing that would have done credit to an older and more experienced boxer. Following were the results:— Under 6st.—B.
