TRAMWAY TRIBUNAL’S DECISION
OBSERVATION OF TERMS IN FULL SOUGHT BY UNION (P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 5. Stop-work meetings of tramwaymen will be called in all centres if an assurance is not given by Wednesday evening that the .Wellington City Council will operate in full the decision of the national Tramways’ Industrial Tribunal. The fixing of Wednesday evening as a deadline for receipt of an assurance from the council was endorsed at a meeting of members of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Tramway Employees’ Union to-day. On the recommendation of the union’s national executive,. the branch also endorsed the intention of the national executive to secure the support of the Federation of Labour and the New Zealand Transport Workers’ Federation in an approach to the Government, asking that employers be forced to observe the full terms of the tribunal’s decision.
