CITY COUNCIL AFFAIRS
Sir,—Would it not be better for “The Owl’’ to insist on at least one matter being finalised without drawing attention to all the dividing tactics over civic affairs. As promised, the supporters of Mr E. H. Andrews have arranged a public meeting to give reasons why Mr Andrews should be supported for another term of office as Mayor. There was no squabble as to who should stand: s Mr Andrews secured a handsome majority vote from the Citizens’ Association and is getting support from other organisations. Mr M. E. Lyons could not take it, or accept control by an organisation he himself helped to build; yet he expects others to obey by his ruling. The public will be given facts and fully informed of the morass the Lycns-cum-Holland leadership has got them into over the Milk Act.—Yours, etc.. H. BLISS. October 4, 1947.
