ATTEMPT AT SPEED OF 850 MILES AN HOUR (Rec. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 3. The Ministry of Supply announced last night that an attempt will be made on Wednesday to fly a pilotless rocket aircraft at 850 miles an hour. The rocket will be launched from a Mosquito aeroplane flying six miles above the Atlantic Ocean off the south-west tip of England.
