DECLINE IN TRADE AT COAST HOTELS
THIRD DAY OF BOYCOTT From Our Own Reporter GREYMOUTH, October 3. The boycott of hotels charging 7d a glass for beer continued in the Grey district to-day, and hotels had another quiet trading day. The Greymouth Waterside Workers’ Union, which has a membership of 118, this morning accepted the recommendation of the Trades and Labour Coun-. cil and passed a resolution urging members to boycott all hotels charging 7d a glass.
Though all hotelkeepers in the Grey district, except one, are selling beer at 7d, no move is reported from the Buller district to raise the price from 6d there.
The council was very pleased to date with the response to its call for a black ban on hotels charging 7d, said the secretary of the Trades and £ a bour Council (Mr T.
