AUCKLAND WOMAN 100 TO-DAY
STILL PLAYS PIANO AND SINGS (P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 2. A well-known figure in the Onehunga and One Tree Hill districts, Mrs Margaret Peden, will celebrate her hundredth birthday to-morrow. She retains all her faculties and her favourite pastime is walking round the streets close to her home. She is keenly interested in music, plays the piano, and still has a pleasing voice. She enjoys listening to religious and musical sessions on the radio. Mrs Peden was born at Bonnyrigg, Scotland. She married at the age of 29 Mr John B. Peden, who died in 1893. Forty years later her daughter and son-in-law,• Mr and Mrs John Tait, well known in musical circles in New Zealand visited her and pursuaded her to come to New Zealand from Bonnyrigg and make her home with them. Mrs Peden has one son, Mr John B. Peden, of Edinburgh, Scotland, and one daughter. There are two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren,
