MEDICAL UNITS OF 2ND N.Z.E.F.

DOMINION REUNION IN CHRISTCHURCH Divisional medical units and attached personnel of the 2nd N.Z.E.F, will hold their first Dominion reunion in Christchurch from November 14 to 16. It is expected that at least 800 men who were attached to general hospitals, medical, dental, ambulance, casualty clearing stations, field hygiene and other units will attend from all parts of New Zealand. The reunion will coincide with carnival week in Christchurch, and it is expected that this will attract many visitors. The reunion begins on Friday, the day of the South island championship show of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association and a trotting meeting at Addington. In the evening a smoke concert will be held in the Wentworth. Saturday will be left free for visitors to attend functions in the city and informal gatherings. On the Sunday the men will assemble at King Edward Barracks, from which many marched to embark for overseas service Wreaths will bo laid at the Bridge of Remembrance, and the parade will then attend service at the Christchurch Cathedral and the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. In the afternoon there will be a bus excursion to Waikuku Beach.

New Approach to Sumner Blasting work which has been going on at the Clifton bay corner for some time has been completed, and part of the job of making the new approach road to Sumner has been finished. Traffic is now using the new road, which has been metalled, and it is expected that the tar-sealing will be finished before the end of the month. The widening of the Clifton bav cofner has provided a better and safer approach to Sumner.
