36-MILE SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
Thirty-six riders competed m the 38 miles South Island cycling championship road race held by the Southbridge Athletic Club. Six circuits were made of a six-mile block, and many spectators turned out to Watch the progress of the race. The placlngs were:—B. Froggatt (6mfn). Ihr 39min 32 4-ssec. 1; R. Taylor (10min), Ihr 43min 33 l-ssec, 2; J. Burgess (6min), Ihr 39min 33 3-ssec, 3: T. Voice (6min), Ihr- 39min 34 l-ssec. 4; O. Scott (lOmin), Ihr 43min 34 3-ssec, 5. Fastest times were:—senior: A. J. Thompson, Ihr 38min 28sec; K. E. Johnson, Ihr 38min 28 l-ssec. Junior: L. Hubbard, Ihr 42mip 30sec.
