OFFICIAL COUNT IN BY-ELECTION
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 1. The official count in the Mount Albert by-election gives the Labour candidate (Mr W. W. Freer) a majority of 1553 votes over the National Party candidate (Mr C. J. Garland). This is an increase of 21 on the provisional count. The majority of the fate Mr A. S. 'Richards, M.P., over Mr E? A. Hosking (National) in the same electorate at the General Election was 1857. The official figures are: Freer 7235, Garland 5682.
