MAYOR NOT SEEKING RE-ELECTION The Mtyor of Lyttelton, Mr W. T. Lester, will not seek te-election m November. He gave a definite reply to this effect when asked about his intentions by a representative of “The Press’ last evenThe Deputy-Mayor (Cr. F. H. Heal) said he would not be a candidate for the Mayoralty, but he would again be a candidate for the council. Labour Party Nominations The Lyttelton branch Of the Labour 'Party has decided to nominate Mr W. B. Laing for the Lyttelton Harbour Board for the Lyttelton-Banks Peninsula area, and Mr W. T. Lindsay for the North Canterbury Hospital Board for the same district. • The branch 1 will nominate a full ticket for the Lyttelton Borough Council and five candidates for the council, and one, Mr W. T. Lindsay, for the Mayoralty, have been tentatively selected.
