ANTI-CHOLERA DRUGS
DISPATCH TO CAIRO AND KARACHI
(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, September 26. The British Overseas Airways Corporation announced that aeroplanes carrying anti-cholera drugs would leave Britain during the week-end for Cairo and Karachi (the capital of Pakistan). The supplies include 1,000,000 anti-cholera and two and a half tons ©f vaccine for Egypt. A message from Cairo says .that panic-stricken crowds mobbed clinics throughout Egypt where the country’s supply of anti-cholera vaccine is kept There is only enough vaccine for 60,000 people in the country, which has a population of 17,006,000. Urgent appeals for vaccine were sent to Britain, the United States, and South Africa.
