ARRANGEMENTS FOR FUNERAL

BURIAL TO TAKE PLACE AT GREYMOUTH (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, September 28. Mr O’Brien wfll be given a State funeral, and will be buried at Greymouth. Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated at the gacred Heart Basilica in Wellington at 11 a.m- ©h Tuesday. After the Mass, the casket will be conveyed to parliament gmldings, where the body wttl he m stgte from J p.m. to 5 p,m., at which time the funeral procession will leave from the m4ln steps of Parliament Buildings. The precession will proceed through the Bowen street entrance ip parliament grounds, down Bunny street to Waterloo quay. A Solemn Reauiem Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Chureh,

Greymouth, at 10 a.m- on Thursday, after which the fuperal procession will leave for the Karoro cemetery, Greymouth.

Further details of the Greymouth arrangements will be announced later. Floral tributes lodged in the South Island should be delivered to Bellamy’s, funeral directors, Greymouth. Because of Mr O'Brien death, the State luncheon which was to have beep held on Tuesday in honour of Lord Addison, Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations, has been cancelled. The House of Representatives will meet at 2.30 p.m. that day, instead of at 3.30 p.m.; as originally planned, when tributes of respect will be paid to the memory of Mr O’Brien. The House will then adjourn as a mark of respect. It is cxpecte’d that the session will be adjourned until the follpwing Tuesday. The Prime Minister and most Cabinet Ministers will attend Mr O’Brien’s funeral at Greymouth. The Leader of the Opposition will probably pe present. It is anticipated that coal mines and propably other industrial organisations throughout the West Coast, will close on Thursday. It is understood that an advance party will arrive by aeroplane from Wellington to-morrow to tpake arrangements for the funeral.
