“Just a Mug,” on the subject of electrical goods, says that an English jug element lasted for four years, while the New Zealand-made element with which it had to be replaced lasted only a short time and gave continual trouble. “Money to Burn” suggests that, if the National Party had been in power and had spent £3854 on a car for the High Commissioner in London, “there would have been such a howl from the Labour ranks, there would have been no stopping it.” He commends the criticism voiced by the member for Tauranga.
