[By WHIM WHAM] The Chicago “Tribune” (Colonel McCormick’s isolationist, anti-British newspaper) has announced that an atom bomb shelter will be built under the “Tribune” building. A notice in an issue of the newspaper says that measures are being undertaken by the “Tribune” to protect as far as possible its employees and tenants in the event of an atom bomb attack on Chicago. It adds that preliminary surveys indicate that the shelter should be effective protection for a maximum of 3000 persons against primary blast and the heat released by an atom bomb.—Cable news item.
