POLICE PROTECTION FOR ASSEMBLY
SOME DELEGATES BRING OWN GUARD
NEW YORK, September 14. Detectives from Stotland Yard, secret police from Russia, member* of the Saudi Arabian Royal bodyguard, and New York City patrolmen will help 100 specially-trained blue-uni-formed guards of the United Nations to protect the General Assembly session, which opens on Tuesday. The British, Russian, and Saudi Arabian delegations all brought their own guards. Those from Saudi Arabia wear gold swords for display and revolvers for, action. Officers of the United Nations guard have drawn up two security plans—one for every-day protection and one “standby” scheme in the event of trouble.
