Mathison (Government, Avon) M. H. Oram (Opposition Manawatu). R. Macdonald (Government, Ponsonby), W. H. Fortune (Opposition, Eden), and Dr. A- M. Finlay

(Government. North Shore) each gave speeches for one hour The House adjourned at 5.30 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the later start being caused by a luncheon to be given on Tuesday for Lord Nathan, the British Minister of Civil Aviation.
