YESTERDAY IN THE HOUSE
(From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, August 29. To-day in the House of Representatives was devoted to Budget speeches, and Messrs T. P. Shand (Opposition, Manborough), J. Mathison (Government, Avon) M. H. Oram (Opposition Manawatu). R. Macdonald (Government, Ponsonby), W. H. Fortune (Opposition, Eden), and Dr. A- M. Finlay
(Government. North Shore) each gave speeches for one hour The House adjourned at 5.30 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the later start being caused by a luncheon to be given on Tuesday for Lord Nathan, the British Minister of Civil Aviation.
