PEASANT PARTY IN RUMANIA
VICE-PRESIDENT ARRESTED
(Rec. 7 p.m.) BUCHAREST, August 26. The police have arrested the vicepresident of the banned National Peasant Party (Mr Mihail Popovici) in connexion with investigations into the party’s alleged illegal activity. A reliable source says that, the party’s president (Dr. lulius Maniu) and others who were arrested on July 14 will appear before a military tribunal next week.
