Tobacco Prices in Britain
,Th e high cost of tobacco and cigarettes in Britain has resulted in a decreased number of smokers according to a Christchurch man who has returned after a visit to Britain. He said that most of those who had stopped smoking were women or adolescents. Many mixtures had been made by ardent smokers to eke out their suppiles of tobacco, and several varieties of herbs had been used. While travelling in a train in England the New Zealander was amused to see a man smoke half a cigarette, and then hand it to his wife.
