, LONDON, August 25. The proposed gathering of Empire statesmen for Princess Elizabeth’s wedding in November would undoubtedly lead to “informal discussions’’ on Empire aid to Britain, said the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Commonwealth Relations (Mr A. G. Bottomley).
Hfe emphasised that should an Empire Conference become necessary before that time it would be convened. He added that any discussions in which the Empire Ministers participated in November would be incidental to the main purpose of their visit—to pay the compliments of their respective countries to the Heir Presumptive and her Consort
Kon Tiki Baft Expedition.—Members of the Kon Tiki raft expedition left Raroia Island, in the Tuamotu Group, for Tahiti on Friday, in the French Government schooner Tamara, which is towing the raft—New York. August 25.
