BOOTS AND SHOES
Sir, —I think we should immediately lake steps to stop the importation of any more boots and shoes from England. Already, after the arrival of the tew that have been allowed in, word is flying round the country from mouth to mouth of their high qualitv and lasting qualities, etc. If this goes on there will be a genera] howl all over the country for more of these imported articles and we will not be able to put the dud stuff across these boobs any .onger. We must remember that if we can only keep things up a bit longer we will have a generation grown up which has never known the good stuff • ind they should be easy to handle. Get cracking, Mr Editor, and wield some of that propaganda of yours which we are told can rock empires.—Yours, etc., WELL MADE N.Z. August 26, 1947.
