CRUELTY

Sir, —I agree with ‘ the letter signed ‘Rationalisation,” that an aggressive interest in the prevention of cruelty to animals often indicates a sub-consci-ous and inverted form of cruelty. All this recent acrimonious bickering over side-issues between the enthusiasts of the several animal organisations, is not helping the animals at all; but rather, it provides a convenient excuse to vent their latent cruelty on each other, and thus, incidentally expose themselves to public disapproval as a group of highly-emotional and chronically disgruntled people. What they are really doing, is alienating public sympathy and support for themcelves and their ideas. The public is , about fed up with them, and so are I many of their own members. The I writer is just one of the many who I have helped animals for years (with--1 out fuss or publicity) and is not a I member of any “animal” organisation. -Yours, etc., TIME TO CHUCK IT.
