LINER AGROUND ON REEF
HOPES OF REFLOATING REYNELLA (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 25. An underwater examination of the liner Reynella, ashore on Jomard reef, near Papua, has raised hopes of refloating her. A diver reported that although the ship has been holed by coral, the damage is not extensive. Blasting of the coral to free the ship will be resumed. A naval tug reserve is now on the scene with the marine superintendent of the Directorate of Shipping aboard. German Children Killed by Mine.— The German News Agency reports that seven children were killed and 11 injured when a mine exploded while they were flaying on the shore of Lake Ploetze, 100 miles south-west of Berlin, in the Russian zone.—Berlin ' August 23.
