CANTERBURY COLLEGE COUNCIL
The chairman, Mr W. C. Colee, and Mr A. E. Flower were appointed representatives of the Canterbury University College Council on the Senate of the University of New Zealand yesterday afternoon. The term of three years will begin on January 1, 1948. Mr Colee replaces Mr J. H. E. Schroder, who has retired. The council recorded appreciation of the services of Miss R. P. Karsten for more than six years as principal of the Avonside Girls’ High School. Until the arrival of Miss V. Townsend, Miss K. Leonard will be acting principal. Miss J.. I. Stewart was appointed head of the French department at the Christchurch Girls’ High School. The resignation of Mr D. G. Mawson from the staff of the Christchurch Boys’ High School was accepted.
