£lOO Fine for Bookmaking.—Joseph Peters, 50 Austin street, Wellington, was fined £lOO after pleading guilty to a charge of bookmaking in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Senior Detective E. H. Compton said Peters had taken £7O in bets when visited at 12.20 p.m. on Saturday.— (P.A.)
