The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 20 hours following the time of- issue, is as follows: Situation: an intense anti-cyclone centred east of New Zealand is retarding the onward movement of a complex depression in the north Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m.: north-easterly winds, fresh on parts of the coast, moderate elsewhere. Weather fair to fine. Temperatures moderate. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the Couth Island is:— Moderate north-easterly winds. 1 Weather cloudy on the coast from Westport south. Fair to fine else- ' where.
